No. Gophers are basically underground rats. So when they want in, they will get in. There are things that can be done to help deter them, but it's not a guarantee.
Usually Spring through summer, however we live in the most beautiful city so very often they are active year-round. In January 2022 we saw an increase in activity as if it was Spring.
We can only guarantee that we will get the existing gopher. Sometimes it takes a few tries, but we follow through. What we can't do is prevent new gophers from coming in and that can happen as quickly as 2 days (I have actually experienced that).
